It's a lot easier if you already have Alien or at least have played it. The next expansion in line for the every growing Marvel Legendary will be Annihiliation. So in my opinion: Possible yes, but a little bit of work. What you definitively need is to have the goons appear hidden and you need a certain combat value to turn them over like it is in Alien to make the game harder overall. I think not having that makes the game slightly worse, but you could also go for just one wound card each time someone it wounded and have everyone have the same amount of HP. I was wondering if its possible to play Marvel: Legendary with the Alien rules, as that would be awesome to have the improved gameplay with my preferred theme.
There is a wound deck in Alien that adds a lot of tension, also you have characters which only can stand a certain number of wounds. Ive heard alot of people say that Alien: Legendary is alot better but I dont really like the Alien theme very much. OR you could mix in the nemesis cards into the goon deck (splitting the deck in equal parts according to the nemesis card number, shuffling a card in each part and then stacking them accordingly). I guess you can make a scenario out of that by either just having goons swarm the heroes trying to damage them, while the baddie is available to the heroes to fight and when they get through the nemesis pile before the goons run out the heroes win. So in the end you'd have a Nemesis plotting something, sending a big hunch of goons against the heroes who try to fight off the goons to get to the bad guy without suffering too much to die while trying. Beginning with the Into the Cosmos set there is no limit to the number of Shards that can be in the game at once. You obviously can play the Alien scenarios with Marvel heroes, but I doubt that's what you want. Grace played a younger version of the character in Captain Marvel.
